Abstract: This paper describes appications of electronic technology and computer in the agricultural engineerings in China in three historical preiods. Also describes the developments process of our committee. The first period, from Dec. 1980 to Dec. 1983, is primary period in which this committee was part of The Committee of Bio-agricultural Environment Engineerings. In the 1st period, only electronic technology, without computers, was applied in agricultural engineerings in China.The second period is from Dec. 1983 to Mar. 1986. During this period, The Committee of System Engineering and Electronic Technology Application in Agriculture was set up. Applications of electronic technology and computers in agricultural engineerings, agricultural science and technology and agricultural production were needed urgently and developed gradually. In Mar. 1986, A Symposium For Application of Electronic Technology and Computers was held in Zhuhai city, Kwangdong province. The publication of this symposium was realized as a brief of this period. In the same time, The Committee of Application of Electronic Technology and Computers was set up formally.The third period is more than three years since the setting up of the committee. In this period, electronic technology and computers, especially microcomputers, have been applied nationwide in agricultural engineering in China. In July, 1987, The Second Symposium For Applications of Electronic Technology and Computers was held in Lushan, Jiangxi province, and the papers for this international symposium may be regarded as the summary for the 3rd period. This paper is a brief description in all these aspects.
