Abstract: Mankind has been spreading water on the land by surface irrigation for many thousands of years, and in every country where irrigation is practised, local methods have developed. The scientific approach of recent years has selected and developed those which are effective.Two techniques of improving surface irrigation-furrow irrigation though plastic filmmade on wheat-cotton interplanting field and simple surge flow irrigation including their performance, controlling operation and water-saving high-yield function are presented hereafter.The advantages of them are water-saving high-yield less-investment, to make the high flow velocity and high irrigation quality.
