Abstract: It is an urgent and major task for many old irrigated areas to replace old irrigation techniques by taking advanced and economic irrigation techniques under conditions of serious deficiency in water resources in our country. This paper advances an economic evaluation method to prove the economic rationalization for renewal of irrigation techniques and determine the proper time for the renewal.
