Abstract: In order to solve the problems existed in the BORDA pump developed by the Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association，Germany, a new type of vertical axle turbine pump was designed and manufactured. The test results indicated that the vertical axle turbine pump has a great scope of application in shallow current region.
