Abstract: In this paper, a new type handduster for plant protection was designed. The handle is rotated in vertical direction , not as conventional handduster in side direction. The performance of the handduster, including wind speed at the tube outlet, powder quantity per minute, effective range and width of powder distribution were tested in laboratory. The practice in the cotton field and the heart rate of operator were also tested. The results showed that this handduster has better performance than that conventional one. 
