Abstract: The basic assumptions and equations necessary for estimation of temperature field were given in this paper. The estimation was based on heat due to conduction from the wall and dissipation of flow energy. The necessary dimensionless numbers for heat transfer were described and the graphical and numerical methods of estimating temperature profile in food extruder dies were explained.
