    An Impulse Response Method of Nondestructive Inspection of the Ripeness of Watermelon

    • 摘要: 在试验分析了西瓜的力学和物理特性的基础上,提出了利用西瓜的振动频率响应来判断西瓜成熟度的无损检验方法。研究表明,传统的判断西瓜成熟度的含糖量与西瓜的振动基频有较好的相关关系。在此基础上,考虑了西瓜质量的影响,提出了用f2/3做为西瓜的成熟度指数,并初步确定了“京欣”品种西瓜的成熟度指数范围。研究结果表明,冲击振动方法是一种比较有效的西瓜成熟度无损检验方法,为工程应用在线测量及分机处理奠定了基础。

       

      Abstract: To study a nondestructive inspection method of watermelon ripeness, under the measuring of the basic physical and mechanical properties of skin, pulp, and density of watermelon, a mechanical model was developed and impulse response experiments were carried out. The results showed that there was a better correlation between the first natural freqency(f) and sugar contents of watermelon. Furthermore, mass(m) of watermelon was taken into account, and ripeness index (Ed) was proposed as f2m2/3. The relationship between Ed and sugar content was studied, and the Ed scope for “Jingxin” watermelon was given preliminary. The result showed that the impulse response is a potential online method for nondestructive inspection of watermelon.
