Abstract: Based on the monitoring need of land use area, land quality and their spatial distribution, the various application models of land use dynamic change monitoring, land evaluation, simulation and forecasting as well as optimization and disposition were developed. Inputting different kinds of land use information to set up statistic database, spatial database and image library, the Regional Land Use Monitoring System (RLUMS) were established. It has the functions of land use information analysis and administration, land use monitoring on area, spatial distribution and land use quality, simulation and forecasting as well as optimization and disposition to aid making land use strategy. It can meet the need of all round and long term land use monitoring. The application results were satisfying.
