Abstract: As a knowledge based system that integrates many advanced technologies, Precision Agriculture(PA) has emerged as a promising sustainable development way that could increase agricultural productivity with environmental friendship. From system viewpoints, this paper first presents the socioeconomic distinctiveness of precision agriculture including its impacts on agriculture and other related sectors. And then, the paper analyzed the necessity of studies on precision agriculture economics and its main research contents including risk analysis, economic benefit evaluation and others.
