Abstract:
Through experiments on the thin-layer drying device, the relationship between biological superweak luminescence intensity and germination rates of maize seeds was studied. As drying temperature and time increase, biological superweak luminescence intensity and germination rates of maize seeds decrease, the regulations obey the first order kinetic equation. The techniques of detecting superweak luminescence can be used as a fast and nondestructive method to detect indirectly the viability of seeds during processing and storing process.
