Abstract: Agricultural land consolidation is currently being carried out throughout the country. And about tens billion Yuan will be invested by the governments; the main purpose of that is to increase the overall agrarian area and not to improve agrarian quality in most regions. Concepts for the planning of the sustainable agricultural land consolidation project were studied in this paper; this includes the procedures, contents and principles of the planning for the project. The theory and methods were successfully applied and validated in the planning of the Xuemeiyang land consolidation project of Changtai County, their sustainable evaluation. The results may enhance Chinese land consolidation research and promote land consolidation science development. After carrying out this consolidation planning, the eco-environment and agricultural production conditions were significantly improved, and farm income was increased in planned regions.
