Abstract: The agricultural robot is one of the developmental trends in agricultural machinery in the 21st century. The current developments of the agricultural robot are discussed, and several typical agricultural robots are introduced in this paper. The main problems restricting the application of the agricultural robot are its high cost and low intelligence. The idea of open architecture of agricultural robot control system could decrease its cost and also provide a valid way to solve its intelligence problem.
