Abstract:
The heat capacity, an important thermal characteristic parameter of the paddy grains, was widely applied to the design of drying technology and the computer simulation of dry procedure. Except for the moisture and temperature, the breed even the growing area of paddy grain had an effect on its heat capacity. In this paper, in accordance with the mixed method, a measuring system, which consisted of a hydrothermograph with magnetic force agitator, a potential difference meter and a digit thermoammeter etc., were used in the determination of heat capacity of short paddy grain growing in the south China, with a special attention to the influence of moisture content upon the heat capacity of rough rice. In addition, based on the experimental data, the relationship between the heat capacity of short paddy grain and its moisture content was found to be described as a linear equation by means of regression statistics. Further study shown that the equation worked better than the other known equations from overseas in prediction of heat capacity of the short paddy grain with different moisture contents.
