Abstract:
In order to improve efficiency and automation in precision agricultural activities, remote monitoring technology is necessary to collect automatically field information and control field equipment on time. In this paper a new remote monitoring system for agricultural application was elucidated. Then a specific remote monitoring controller (ReMoC) based on GSM was developed for this situation to communicate field equipment or apparatus with the monitoring computer on a farm. As an application example, ReMoC was utilized to transfer data from an in-situ yield monitor. Experimental results prove new possibilities for employment of ReMoC in other precision agricultural practices.
