Abstract:
To avoid the potential threat to food safety around Beijing,a Decision Surpport System(DSS) for the heavy metal pollution management was established with the J2EE technology and WebGIS technology on the platform of Beijing Eco-environment Information Management System. In this work, 530 soil samples at 53 sites located by GPS Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) were tested for the uniformity variations of the sampling point distribution in Beijing, China. The normal distribution test on the observation values of the soil samples was made. The results indicated that interpolating with pure GIS method or Geostatistics could be used to analyze the spatial variations of the heavy metal contents with promising accuracy. The DSS integrated the environmental resource data and the basic geographic data, and had been applied in mapping the distribution of the heavy metal contents in the test area on WebGIS.
