Abstract: Sustainable use of land resources is formed out of sustainable use of resources, which is the core of sustainable development. It refers that at one time people seek economic benefit as maximum as possible, at the same time maintain and improve the condition of land resources. On the condition of socialism market economy system, the goal of sustainable land use management mainly depends on government strict land use plan, which inducts and limits or encourages the land use behavior of people so as to ensure the rational collocation and sustainable use of land. This paper analyzes the definition, the content, the system, the key factor, the organization step and method of the land resources, published by FAO. On this basis, the paper discusses and puts forward the references to improving the land use planning in China.
