Abstract: Research advances of haploid breeding of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) were reviewed in the paper, including anther culture, ovary culture and induction of haploid obtained by irradiated pollen. Progress of method of ploidy determination and technique of chromosome doubling in cucumber were summarized. Problems and new points to be probed in these areas were proposed.
