Abstract:
The effects of nitrogen on the growth and quality of Chinese Kale(Brassica alboglabra Bailley) by solution culture in 5 treatments (0.25*N, 0.5*N, 1*N, 1.5*N, 2*N). In proper range of nitrogen level, the yield and biomass of Chinese Kale increased with the increasing of nitrogen level, but when nitrogen level exceed 1*N, the yield was not affected significantly with the increasing of nitrogen level. However, the contents of vitamin C and sugars in flower stalk, and the quality of flower stalk decreased at high nitrogen level. The content of nitrate in flower stalk increased with the increase of nitrogen level, while nitrogen exceed 1*N, nitrate was accumulated significantly, and the nitrate accumulation in leaf on flower stalk was significantly higher than that in stalk.
