Abstract:
This paper was the first report on aqueous extraction-alcohol precipitation technology of water-soluble polysaccharides of Kalimeris indica. The effect of each factor such as the ratio of sample to water, the time of extraction, the temperature of extraction and the ethanol concentration on the extraction of the water-soluble polysaccharides of Kalimeris indica was investigated, using the methods of single factor test and orthogonal design test of L
9(3
4). The result showed that the main factors from more important to less affecting the extracting rate of polysaccharides were as follows: ethanol concentration, ratio of sample to water, extraction time and extraction temperature; the best technological conditions were that the ratio of sample to water was 1∶20, the time of extraction was 2 hours, the temperature of extraction was 100℃ and the concentration of ethanol was 95%. Using the best technological conditions, the extraction rate of the water-soluble polysaccharides of Kalimeris indica was 4.12%.
