Abstract:
The soil structure was described with fractal dimensions of particle size distribution(PSD), aggregate size distribution(ASD) and soil pores distribution(SPD). The effects of fractal feature on shear-resistant intensity of soil under different land uses were investigated to offer some bases for soil and water vegetation construction in Three Gorges Reservoir Areas. The results indicate that the fractal dimensions of PSD and ASD have more important effects on internal friction angle according to the regression coefficient, which have one magnitude order larger than other factors, and cohesion is influenced by more factors, and the fractal dimension of PSD has more important effects on cohesion. In the same soil water content, the easiest shear face lied in A2 and B layer in mix wood, in A2 layer in broadleaf forest, in C layer in bamboo forest, in A2 layer in shrub forest and in B layer in arable land.
