Abstract: The station and function of modern animal husbandry in new countryside construction, the developmental actuality and problems in Chinese modern animal husbandry and housing district for livestock farming are discussed in this paper. Results indicate that the direction about development for Chinese modern animal husbandry and the necessity of pushing the construction of standardization housing district for livestock farming in the “11 th Five-Year Plan”. The general plan and target are presented in construction of animal raising zone, region distribution, construction content and safeguards are established. It points out several trends that should be avoided in pushing the construction of animal raising zone.
