Abstract:
To realize quantitive and visual description of morphological structure of maize, a technique frame for simulation and three-dimensional visualization of maize morphological structure was provided based on maize growth models. Through literature review and field observation, morphological knowledge models for description of the relationship between the number of leaves and main morphological structural parameters of leaf, sheath, and internodes were constructed. Within the frame of maize growth models, maize morphological knowledge models and organ geometrical models based on morphological characteristic parameters were integrated, quantative simulation of maize morphologic development process and output of characteristic parameters of maize topological structure and organ morphology were realized in maize growth modeling. Three dimensional shape of maize plants and canopy was then reconstructed based on geometrical models using outputted morphological characteristic parameters. By combination of growth models, morphological structure models, mathematic models and visualization models, three-dimensional process of canopy and morphological development of the maize cultivar NONGDA108 was simulated with high sense of reality.
