Abstract:
The feasibility and technical conditions of aqueous extraction process of camellia seed oil were investigated in order to provide a alternative method of camellia oil extraction. After the shell and coat was removed from camellia seeds, the obtained kernels were ground, and then distilled water was added to extract oil. After centrifugation, camellia oil was obtained. With the oil extraction rate and free oil recovery as indicators, single-factor experiments and orthogonal experiments were carried out. The optimum extraction conditions were obtained as follows: camellia seed paste and 4.5 times distilled water was mixed and incubated in 75℃ water bath at pH 9.0 for 150 min. And at the optimum conditions, the oil extraction rate and free oil recovery is up to 80.28% and 90.19%, respectively. This indicates obtained technical parameters are credible. The research shows aqueous extraction technology of camellia seed oil is feasible and can be taken as a alternative method for oil extraction from camellia seed.
