Abstract:
Grains of different origins are mixed throughout the supply chain according to their grades and usage, which brings great challenge in information identification for grain traceability system. This paper presented a method to use two-dimensional barcodes printed on the surface of a grain tracer as the information carrier. An embedded system based on ARM technology to retrieve the information in 2D barcodes and obtain the GPS and environmental information for grain field was developed, and the acquisition information transmitted though GPRS network. The system realized automatic collection and wireless transmission of grain identification, grain field condition information (atmosphere temperature, atmosphere relative humidity, luminosity and CO2). The system can provide an effective means for fast, low-cost tracking of grains to harvest field to guarantee product safety and quality for the grain industry.
