Abstract: As the exhaustion of petroleum resources will be happened in recent future, the research on the alternative fuel for internal combustion engine with plant oil becomes a world wide project as well as in China.The paper will mainly introduced several points as follows:1. The recent research works of the plant oil to be used for diesel engine in China and other countries;2. A comparison between plant oil and other substitutional fuels;3. Some points of view and concrete suggestions given by this paper in the development of plant oils as fuel in China.
