THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF THE ZONATION OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

    • As regional differences are great in a large country as China, it calls for the necessity of dividing agricultural engineering measures into different zones. For agricultural mechanization problems, nature, agricultural and social conditions were selected as the criteria of division of the zones and a grading system was developed for the division. Any of the OVERLAPPING, the LEADING FACTOR, and the GEOGRAPHICAL RELATION methods might be used to form the zones and descrsptions and suggestions for each zone were given in regard to agricultural development. Mono-zonation of marsh gas and sythetic zonation of rural e nergy resources were also described as another examples. It is apparent that agricultural engineering zonation will provide scientific basis for the planning and policy making of the development of agriculture, including the development of agricultural indastries.
