EFFECTS OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING ON THE PROGRESS OF THE AGRICULTURAL MODERNIZATION IN DOU-DIAN VILLAGE

Three developing stages during the progress of the agricultural modernization of Dou-Dian village, which is of general significance in the Northern Plain of China including the suburb of Beijing, may be summarized as follows: In the first stage, grain production had increased by a big margin through the reform of cropping system. The new cropping system then enabled farmers makes full use of natural resources of solar and heat energies, and to apply synthetically improved conditions they made during the past few years, such as irrigation system, chemical fertifizers and other new technologies. The sign of second stage was the development of animal husbandry and it is higher economical effects, based on abundant feed grains and crop stalks. The third stage in which it has been undergone is to establish the food and feed processing industries and the comprehensive utilization of farm by-products, so as to guarantee the systematic benefits of whole production system, and to realize the integration of three benefitssocial, economical and ecological benefits.The paper also discussed the effects of agricultural engineering measures as follows: (1) Mechanized farm tools must be suited to agronomic technology. This is the key to make the agricultural mechanization more successfully. (2) The inevitable tendency is that the agricultural mechanization is prior in developed regions than undeveloped ones. Meanwhile, the mechanization will prevent the agriculture from shrivelling. (3) Agricultural engineering measures are the prerequisite for developing the industry of animal husbandry. (4) Agricultural engineering measures would play the decisive role to promote the crop cultivation, animal raising and agricultural products processing in the countryside of China with the Chinese formula.
