A STUDY ON HOT ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT FOR DAIRY COWS IN BEIJING REGION

    • In this research, systematic experiments have been made on the problems of cooling for dairy cows under present conditions of the farms in Beijing region. Based on the environmental evaluation of the dairy cows in summer seasons with the Improved Temperature Humidity Index, a management procedure for hot environment of dairy farms has been advanced through the comparison of three cooling methods which had been tested in the research. Before the conclusions were got, discussions and demonstrations had been made from three aspects, they are statistics and analysis of weather data, simulating calculation of ventilation rate and test for design of a evaporative cooler. As the results, data and other informations which can be used as references in dairy production and further studies are provided.
