EVALUATION OF THERMAL ENVIRONMENT OF HOUSES FOR PIG INDUSTRY IN COLD REGIONS

    • By the effective environmental management, low insulated, natually ventilated and lighted houses without supplement heat and straw could provide satisfactory thermal environment for growing finishing pigs in cold regions the North-eastern China. Environmental management should include: higher stocking densities, lower ventilation rate, optimazation facilities and structure of accommodations to protect from the draft and moisture, to decrease the heat loss from pigs, such as to place an insulation layer polystyrene film on the inside of the windows and to put insulation layer on top of the cailing. In order to prevent mud in pens and maximum decrease the loads of the ventilation, in practice of environment design and in system husbandry must attach great importance to application of the eliminative behaviour of the pigs.
