Abstract
Dynamic controlled atmosphere is a new technique for apple storage developed from the traditional controlled atmosphere storage. It can further prevent the senility of apple, prolong its storage life and reduce its putridity and loss. Composite dynamic controlled atmospere (CDCA) is an advanced technique for apple strage. In 1984 and 1985, a series of CDCA experiments were made in Shandong province. Firstly, the suitable consistency composite gases of CO2 and O2 were used to lash apples for a short time under atmospheric temprature, and then apples were packed in the plastic film bags that provided with the atmospheric parameters of apple for long time storage. These experiments showed a very satisfying effect to the main species of apples such as Starking Franks, Gold Delicious, Rolls Janet and others in Shandong province.
