THE METHODS AND TRENDS OF LAND EXPLOITATION AND RECLAMATION IN THE ARID AND SEMI-ARID AREAS OF FOREIGN COUNTRIES

This paper presents the measures and ways to exploit and reclaim the arid and semi-arid areas in foreign countries recently. Arid and semi-arid areas are seriously influenced the ecological balance in above areas. The purpose of land exploitation and reclamation engineering is a kind of engineering to exploit and use above mentioned areas, to establish an agricultural basic land and to control the disastrous effects of ecological balance. All these should be based on the point of view of the protection of the land from damage.It is still a world wide problem how to exploit and reclaim arid and semi-arid areas more reasonably, effectively and properly. This problem needs the solution quite urgently. This problem is also to be happened in the north-western part of China.
