AN APPROACH ON SIMPLE AND ENERGY-SAVING SWINE HOUSES

    • A Comparing test with three different construction types of natural ventilation swine houses (1) with roller curtains, (2) with windows, and (3) without window was made from August, 1985 to February, 1986 in Beijing. The analysed results are as follows.1. There were no distinct differences in daily gain and feed utilizing rate of fatteing pigs (30—90 kg in weight) raised among these three types during the testing period.2. The roller curtain house had better natural ventilation in summer but was colder in winter. The windowless house had the worst air conditions in summer and over humidity in winter. The house with windows can provide good microlimatic environment in any season.3. The windowless house can only be used in wide span and with mechanical ventilating systems. The swine house with roller curtains can be used for raising finishing and adult pigs in Beijing and areas to the south of Beijing. The window type was suited to all kinds of pigs in any area of China.Note: Some other personnals to take part in this experiment, they are: Yin Yuling , Jin Yuzhou, Di Gouzhong, Li Jixiang, Liu zeli, Shang Sujie, and pan Wenli.
