INVESTIGATION ON ETHANOL BLENDED FUELS USED AS SPARK-IGNITION ENIGINE FUELS

This paper presents the program of testing and researching on following items: the characteristics of ethanol and gasoline blended fudls, the performance of remodelled gasoline engines and cars based on road travelling, the technology of rebuilding a spark-ignition engine, and the effects of blended fuel on wearing and corrosion of main components of the engine, It is a suitable choice under China, s fuel market condition to replace gasoline with blended fuel, The blend made from low-octane gasoline and 15-20%.of 85-90 proof ethanol is good for spark-ignition engine. Laboratory tests of engine and road travelling tests of car showed that the remodelling engines with blended fuel worked very smooth. No severe corrosion and wearing for main components of engine by using blended fule were found.
