The New Stage of the Development in Chinese Agricultural Engineering Education——1978~1989

    • There are three stages of development of a. e. training in China. Before 1949, there was an embrayonic stage, the a. e. courses first put into college schedules in China was in 1932, and two departments of a. e. were established at Central University and University of Nanking in 1947 and 1948 respectively. After the founding of New China, the a. e. training in China developed rapidly from a base of agricultural mechanization technology. From 1949 to 1978, there were about 25000 students graduated from colleges and 60000 students graduated from secondary technical schools, most of them were from the specialties of a. m. Since 1979, there emerged a new phase of a. e. training in China. The range of a. e. specialties widened both in colleges and in secondary technical schools. The problems existing in the development of a. e. training in China are discussed.
