Basic Behaviour of Nonsmooth Surfaces in the Interface Adhesion

    • The motional resistance of some nonsmooth surfaces against fluid or semi-solid is less than that of the smooth surface. This new discovery is contrary to the conventional understanding. Smooth and nonsmooth surfaces in the adhesion are difined on the bases of the nonsmooth effects. The noasmooth surfaces are classified as geometrically, mathematically, mechanically, biologically nonsmooth sufaces and others, and their basic behaviour are analyzed. Especially, existing state and development of the bionic investigation into nonsmooth surfaces is introduced and prospect of bionic nonsmooth surfaces to reduce motional resistance is given.
