The Application of Geothermal Driving Absorption Heat Pump for Heating in Rural Area

    • The geothermal resources are affluent in China and most of them located in the rural area especially in the North-China Plain. However most of the geothermal resources are in low or intermediate temperature range, except in Tibet and Yunan Province. So, how to explore and use these resources in industry and private daily life efficiently is both realistic at present and inevitable in the future.Considerations of the distinguish features of the low or intermediate geothermal fluid which are studied in this paper and together with the shortage of fossil fuel which peasants required caused the authors to realize that the temperature gradation utilizing technique world be used in order to increase the efficiency of heat. For this purpose, the Type n Absorption Heat Pump which uses the low or intermediate temperature geothermal fluid as the driving heat source was investigated and several possible using schemes were proposed. Following the study of the general work principle of the Type n Absorption Heat Pump, authors established the research facilities in their laboratory and introduce the system diagram in this paper. Authors evaluate the performance (i.e. equivalent coefficient of heat supply) of such facilities. A calculation was made by using ammonia-water as the working medium. The results showed that it has a fair good performance of heat supply with high efficiency of heat utilization.
