Experiment and Analysis of the Camel Gait

By means of high-speed photographs, the gait,the footprint distribution,the leg stance and the motion of camel feet walking on sand were studied and analysed.Data acquired were processed and curves of steer angles of the leg joints were drawn. A mathematic model was then established and pole-diagrams of the camel leg and foot were drawn ,so that the gait and motion process could be viewed much clearer.The above research based on bionis theory,provided a reference for the design of legged vehicles.
