Stirling Engine and Its Use Prospects in China

By introducing the distinguishing feature of Stirling engine and analyzing the trend of its development, this paper explores the possibility of the engine to be used in the areas of rural energy resources, heat pump for civil use and agricultural installations, etc. Taking the example of a kind of new type engine which named a flat plate displacer Stirling engine, it points out that in order to make Stirling engine practical in China as soon as possible, the components of the engine should be easy to manufacture to adapt to our present technical and production conditions.
