    • Take Yangfan Pumping Station working on the Yellow River as an example. The paper analysed how to select centrifugal pumps to reduce impellers' wear and tear caused by sand in water in order to prolong the impellers' service life. The technic is important to agricultural pumping stations working with highly sandy water. Yangfan Pumping Station's practice illustrated that the economic profit caused by the technic transform was remarkable.
