Availability Study on Thermodynamic Processes of Diesel Cycle

In this paper,the irreversible factors which may cause availability losses in thermodynamic processes of diesel engine are analyzed,and some methods which can decrease the losses are discussed. Results show improving combustion, reducing flow resistant of introduction and exhaust system, lowering heat tansfer between gas and wall,recovering exhaust availability by turbocharger and enhancing mechanical efficiency are the main means of reducing cycle availability losses.
