Experiment and Computer Simulation of Fixed-Bed Drying of Corn

A computer simulation method of fixed-bed drying of corn is proposed in this paper. A corresponding computer simulation software is programmed. Moisture contents of corn and drying air temperature in different bed depth for the different corn varieties and different initial moisture contents are computed. The effects of corn varieties and initial moisture contents on fixed-bed drying rate of corn are analized. A good agreement is obtained by comparing predicted results with measured ones. The study results provide a basis for further choice and optimization of technological parameters of fixed-bed drying of corn.
