Shear Stress-Shear Rate-Time Relationship of Wet and Soft Soils and Its Application (Part 1)——Investigation on Shear Deformation Mechanism of Soils

    • In order to obtain the relationship among shear stress, shear strain and time of wet and soft soils, analysis of shear deformation mechanism of soils is made. The results show that the shear strength can be decreased greatly due to defects and irregular arrangement of the particles in the soil. Dislocation theory can be used to describe the shear deformation mechanism of wet and soft soils.
