The Design and Experiment on Planting Apparatus with Seedling-Guiding Tube

This planting apparatus with seedling-guiding tube is a new prototype. This paper analyzed the movement of the seedling and factors influencing the seedling's verticality. Both guiding and controlling methods were adopted to ensure the upright position of the seedling. The seedling is guided by a tube to the place where the soil falls to the back of the opener and then covers twice with soil to make the seeflling standing upright. Through a lot of experiments on the working parts, the relative position among the seedling tube, the opener and the press wheel was determined and the prototype of a transplanter with seedling-guiding tube was developed. Results of field experiment proved that the excellent rate and the up-to-standard rate of the seedling's verticality can reach 80% and 90% respectively.
