    Animal Waste Management in Developed Countries——A Review of Technical and Legislative Aspects

    • Large quantities of farm wastes from intensive system of livestock and poultry production have resulted in major environmental problems. So more and more attention has been paid on legislation to restrict farming activities. In this paper, the authors point out the constraints and goals of animal waste management system, then review the new development of technical aspect over recent years, which includes land application; aerobic and anaerobic treatment; collection, storage and transport; utilization or disposal; optimal model and decision support system. Finally, several legislations in different countries are introduced.
