Abstract
It is predicted that in the next century, water shortage in agriculture will be aggravated by the decrease in the capacity of existing projects, the warmingup of the climate and water pollution which threatens service discharge and water quality. The competition for available water supplies will be intensified. To overcome the crisis, the agriculture of watersaving irrigation should be developed which involves such sectors as hydraulic projects, farming and management. To popularize watersaving irrigation, different regions should develop appropriate techniques and management in line with their own distinctions.
