Effect of Alfalfa Juice Protein Concentrate（AJPC）on Performance of Piglets and chicks

There is a significant difference in the effect of AJPC on piglets and chicks． The feed intake and body weight gain of chicks decrease with increase of AJPC content of diet. AJPC improves the growth rate of pigs as compared with cotton and rapeseed meal. The 10 % replacement of soybean and cotton protein with AJPC does not decrease feed intake and body weight gain of chicks, but the 50 % and 100 % replacements depress feed intake and body weight gain(P<0.05). On the other hand， the 100 % replacement of rapeseed and cotton meal in pig diet improves the growth rate of weights (P<0.01). The experiment results also indicate that there are very different nutrition values of AJPC between pig and poultry.
