On the Agenda of Agricultural Engineering in China in the 21st Century

Different predictions on grain as well as on water safety in the bottle neck period (2000～2030 AD) of Chinese history are reviewed. The specific functions of China's sustainable agriculture capable of negotiating with the issues are advanced, and high priority agricultural engineering technology development work in support of the modernization of Chinese sustainable agriculture and the implementation of the national eco environment rehabilitation program (2000～2050 AD) are listed. International collaboration and joint venture in the development of appropriate technology for specific local conditions in the high priority areas as proposed are recommended for its potentially highest market share in the future.
