Development Model of Karamay Ecological Agriculture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

    • In accordance with the basic principle of ‘integrity, harmony, circulation & regeneration’ and the characteristics of ‘regional, high-efficiency & sustainability’, the developing model of Karamay ecological agriculture was made in connection with the specific condition of the fragile ecological evironment in Karamay. Given the developing scale of ecological agriculture, the balances of the soil nutrient & energy in this ecological system were prelimarily analyzed. The results showed that the ratios of input to output of N,P & K in soil nutrient are 1.54,1.27 & 0.56 respectively. Since Karamay areas are rich in phosphorus but short in potassium, the nutrient input & output of the system can keep balance. The ratio of input to output of energy reaches 2.51. Therefore, the ecological agricultural system can realize positive circulation and sustainable development.
