    R & D of Emitter for Subsurface-Drip-Irrigation(SDI) and Its Preliminary Application

    • A developed SDI emitter is introduced in this paper. The result of laboratory test indicated that the emitter could resist suction so that clogging caused by negative pressure in the irrigation system can be prevented. The SDI emitter also has good pressure compensating performance. Application of SDI on Chinese date produced ideal water saving and production increasing results. Compared with flood irrigation, SDI on Chinese date used 42% less water but the yield is 26% greater.
