Abstract
After validation with field irrigation experiment data, the one-dimensional surface irrigation model SRFR was used to model the influence of land-leveling precision on basin irrigation performance under conditions of fixed and varying water supply time. For a typical field, the resulting performance parameters, such as application efficiency and distribution uniformity were appreciably reduced with increase in the standard deviation of field surface elevations (Sd), which was used to evaluate the land-leveling precision. From this study, it can be inferred that the field leveling precision need be improved by means of laser-controlled leveling procedures in order to obtain reasonable use of irrigation water.
